Wow! What a gorgeous weekend ride we had on the 20th! Sandy, Mike & Catherine Feeney, Diane Gosslin & I headed to Hampton for the Seacoast Tri State Century Ride. Sandy & I went last year?did the full century, but had a lot more fun this year with much cooler temps and great, new friends! We headed out at 9am?yes, coffee in bed watching the surfJ A mere 39 degrees!!! Yikes! We meandered up the coast as it got warmer and warmer. What a phenomenal ride! We all took in every moment! This was Diane?s very first event?she was a true athlete riding her mountain bike when we all have road bikes!! She did PJ (and all of us) proud going all of the way to the Portsmouth Bridge! I finally learned to do ?the fifty? and actually turn around to head back at the half way point! Sandy & Mike headed off for an unknown either 12 or 16 or 20 unknown trek up to the Nubble Beach lighthouse. Catherine and I headed back while we still had the energy. What a smart decision! The headwind along with the delayed lethargy made it the right decision for us. I think I enjoyed the reverse scenery just as much going back as I did going up. And of course, we gave Michael & Sandy the opportunity to go full bore up to the lighthouse and back (turned out to be an added 19 miles). All in all, it was a perfect ride in every respect. I can?t wait until next year! BTW--I saw one other CCD jersey go by?anyone know who that was?
