I'm one of the new guys but can't wait to ride with somebody, too much solo training over at Colby-Sawyer. I guess the party scene is easier then bike riding, hmm Hope to see you guys there!

I'm going to be heading out with Keith around 5:00-5:15pm today if anyone wants to tag along for a later afternoon ride.

I would like to ride with you guys...two significant issues to deal with however:

1. I am almost totally out of shape and I cannot keep up with you all. I have been working extra hours for the last few months at work, and have not been able to ride. My road bike hangs in the garage. Workload is expected to stay heavy through July.
2. I am currently working (at home)...and I am not done. I might head out anyway so if I bump into you don't laugh.

Thanks!

Brian

Brian,

I will ride with you at your pace and distance whenever you want. If it's midnight, just say the word, I got lights, and I'm always up that late.

To re-engineer a Warren Miller quote:

Ride today, or you will be one day older when you do!

Had a very nice ride with Ginny, Jim, Bill, and Brandon today. Sounds like we flirted with intersecting the other group but never did connect.

Managed to hit some of the attractions: Avery Trail (AKA Coit South), Brake Burner, Salem's Lot, Eastside, Big Rock, Ledge, North, Ridge, and Board Walk.

Ginny & I did Brake Burner, it needs a cleaning. There was some debris at the top that Ginny was kind enough to remove before I got to it. The leaves were pretty deep in spots where you really needed traction. After fighting a series fishtails on one of the steep sections I had to bail about half way down before I hit a tree.

I watched Brandon's eyes get pretty big when he watched Ginny do a 180 degree hop turn on some uneven tight single track.

All in all Great fun.

Yeah, sorry we missed you guys - I wasn't able to get out until later today, but Keith and I did run into Brandon and he rode back into the trails with us for a bit.

We rode everything - went down Backlash instead of Brakeburner and it rode fantastic - Eastside was a hoot as always - all in all the trails are amazing.

Lot's of animals tonight - we had to stop for a huge porcupine just below the water towers near forest trail, and he wasn't in a hurry to get out of our way. Then scared up a large moose at the beginning of Bear trap.

My Wednesday nights are booked for the next 6-7 weeks, but hopefully I'll catch up with everyone soon.

Later,

Aaron

Rode eastside Friday... Heard a huge noise to my right on the banking, Limbs breaking, feet shuffling. I rode with my head down another 25 yards before I dared to look.......Couldnt tell what it was, but it moved slowly away without a care. It may have been that porcupine, it was fat.

I have come across a couple turkeys on Eastside that have given me a pretty good scare. When they are roosting in a tree and try to take off in a panic they can make quite a racket.

Eastside is a pretty good location to spot animals. I have seen quite a few turkeys and deer on that trail.

Would have loved to see that moose thou, I had a dream about running into a moose the other day.
