I've seen a few of the trails now, here is what I know so far:

- [b:247f82dbfe]Outback[/b:247f82dbfe]: Medium sized birch down near where others have fallen in middle, another medium sized tree down at the start of the trail near Dodd's Way / field.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Coit North[/b:247f82dbfe]: Lots of small stuff. Haven't seen upper section.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Coit Summit Bypass[/b:247f82dbfe]: mostly good.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Avery Trail[/b:247f82dbfe]: Has been cleared from Salems Lot to Summit Bypass, not sure about the upper section.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Backlash[/b:247f82dbfe]: last I saw it had a lot of smaller stuff down
- [b:247f82dbfe]Salems Lot[/b:247f82dbfe]: Fern Alley side was pretty bad, middle had a lot of small stuff, Avery Trail to Summer & Summer to Eastside has been cleaned for the most part.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Bear Trap[/b:247f82dbfe]: haven't seen most of it but there are numerous skidder tracks headed that way from Summer so I fear the worse for the lower part.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Pine Link[/b:247f82dbfe]: lots of small stuff on start and finish, with Big pine and serveral small trees down in middle between Eastside & Salems Lot.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Eastside[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff on either end but most of the middle has been cleaned.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Barton Woods[/b:247f82dbfe]: Upper section from playground to summit has been cleaned, not sure about the rest.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Whip & Spur[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff but nothing major.
- [b:247f82dbfe]North Boundary[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff
- [b:247f82dbfe]North[/b:247f82dbfe]: Very Large pine down at top of Steep section, not sure about lower part.
- [b:247f82dbfe]Foliage[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff
- [b:247f82dbfe]Ridge[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff
- [b:247f82dbfe]Lower Loop[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff
- [b:247f82dbfe]Forest[/b:247f82dbfe]: last time I saw it nothing major
- [b:247f82dbfe]South Boundary[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff
- [b:247f82dbfe]Trapper[/b:247f82dbfe]: small stuff
- [b:247f82dbfe]Steep Baptist[/b:247f82dbfe]: mostly cleaned
- [b:247f82dbfe]Baptist Bypass[/b:247f82dbfe]: mostly cleaned

Generally the single track ground is in good condition, double track is still really soft.

Yesterday Hugh, Jesse and I rode Lower Loop / Trapper / Roots / Tower Circle / Snake Alley / full length of Eastside/ Pine Link / Salem's Lot / Pine Link / WhipnSpur / connector across to Couch / South Boundary. We moved everything big that we came to, so nothing there needs anything more than a quick raking or leaf-blower to get the little derailleur eaters. Though, it was generally in pretty good shape already.
I love that we're riding in early April!!

That's Great!

Did you guys hit that middle section of Pine Link I mentioned where the trees are down?

we hit the top of Pine Link (from Salems Lot up to the Pinnacle) an we hit the bottom (from Eastside towards Bear Trap) but we missed the little section in between. There was some stuff down near Bear Trap... so we removed it. Is that what you're talking about?

The section you missed is where all the trees are down.

I'd be up for some clean-up work this week after work one evening.

Wed nights I have been riding my bike out, and working on clean up for a while and then riding back. Not much in the way of riding but it accomplishes two tasks at once.

If you are interested Jesse, now that I know where some of the major obstructions are we could ride out and hit one or two of them and ride back on Wed.

Let me know.

Ryan, that sounds good. I was out sick from work yesterday, and not feeling great today. I expect to feel up to it by tomorrow, but I'll post either way tomorrow to let you know for sure.

Ok Jesse. Sorry to hear you have been under the weather.

It is my general game plan to ride out and work on some of the obstructions with or without you but would love to have your company.

I'll come play.
Are we going to try to make some more progress on Salem's Lot or do some cleanup?
If cleanup: Should we try to get our hands on some blowers? Should I bring a chainsaw?

The General Plan is to ride our bikes out to some of the big obstructions and try to remove them. Then ride some more, clear some more, etc. If we don't find any obstructions, we keep riding.

If you don't mind strapping a chainsaw to your back, by all means bring one. :)

Most of what I saw can be taken out with my hand saw. If you have a nice hand saw that is ridable bring it.

FYI, I was on some of the lower trails today and it looks like the blower gods have been out already, SWEET!!!

Adam,

I am still heading out. I'm flexible on time so just come over when you can and we will head out from here on mountain bikes. Do you know around what time you might be here?

Nathan got out ahead of us tonight, and we never did catch up with him but we did very much enjoy the fruits of his labor. Nathan took out the trees on Pine Link. Not sure where he headed after that.

Adam and I headed down Bear Trap. Dodd is definately working down and around Bear Trap so be careful riding this trail as I would expect to see more obstructions pop up now and again as the skidder tracks cross the trail 3 or 4 times. That said Dodd has been kind so far (as usual), there was one substantial and extended blockage which Adam and I was able to make quick work of. It is noteworthy that parts of the ladder bridge before the stone wall are in bad repair, but the is not a big surprise.

After Bear Trap we also took out the trees and major debris on Outback, Coit North, and Brake Burner. There are some small sections of trail I haven't seen on the Coit end but for the most part the trails are ready to ride and would be really sweet after a blowing.

Unfortunately someone has discovered Coit North on a 4 wheeler, I'm hoping they don't return as the trail is already showing signs of damage.

I haven't seen everything in the Town Forest proper yet, but it looks like there has been an effort underway to ready those trails and the ones I have been on are in great condition. The only thing I'm aware of that needs to be removed is the large tree on North trail (assuming someone hasn't got to that since Thursday).

Adam and I got a surprising amount of riding in tonight and trail work to boot. It was a good night.

I took out the big tree on North Boundary / North Trail today. I think that just about wraps up the big stuff.

The trail blowing gods continue their good work. Nothing like being on a freshly blow trail in APRIL!
