Does anyone know if Cornish Turnpike from Cornish to Newport is "rideable" on a cross bike? If yes - how good or bad is the trail surface?

I have rode that trail many times on my full suspension mountain bike. There are sections that are quite rough with boulders and loose rocks, especially on the Newport side, there is a long ledgy section on the Cornish side and in between is relatively smooth hard packed jeep road with a series of full width puddles some of which are deep. It takes a week or two of hot dry weather for those puddles to shrink up small enough to easily navigate most of them.

That's what it was like a year or two ago the last time I was up there.

Hope that helps.
