The much anticipated moment has arrived! Russell is in NH. He is just north of Hanover today. He will be at the AMC Galehead Hut Friday night (8/17).

Great stuff! WE just hiked 1/2 of the Mahoosuc range in Maine (34 miles) and it sucked, but was awesome in the same way. Steep stuff...pack light. We passed 38 thru hikers.... 2 snakes eating frogs, and played in lightning on top of Bemis Mountain (just made it out)... Good luck Ryan keeping up with him, we saw a few with some pretty sturdy and fast legs. Rock on Russell...

I will only be doing an over night with Russell (15+ miles first day including hike up to meet him, and 13+- miles the second).

That leaves Russell free for the Presidentials if anyone wants to meet up with him Monday morning on 302 in Crawford Notch. I believe he will be staying at the Ethan Pond Campsite on Sunday night.

If he gets' to read this, sickness was going around in Maine on the AT, 3 of us got it, lasts a day....Keep and eye out. I suspect staying at the shelters may not be a good idea (although we didnt and still got it, we did eat at one)

Change in plans... I am meeting Russell in Crawford Notch at 8am on Sunday morning to hike the Presidentials. We will be staying at The Perch shelter / tent site Sunday night and I will be hiking out at Pinkham Notch on Monday evening.
