Hi folks,

The loggers are at it again, but at the moment it's not too bad. Way down at the bottom of Bear Trap (just before you ride along the stone wall) there are several (maybe 6?) skidder tracks that intersect the trail. Luckily, you can just ride across the tracks and pick up the trail again. I never had to clip out, the trail is still ridable, but who knows what the future holds?

Other than that, the trail was in better shape than I expected. Just about all the mud's gone, but there's lots of soft earth that the racers dug up, some in places I didn't expect. Ryan's stone work now appears to be mortared in!

I recently talked to Dodd Johnson (the land owner), he will be logging the East side of Summer St Ext. near Bear trap. Hw knows where our trail goes and waited until after our race and for some of the mud to dry up before getting up in there. He enjoys offering his land to us Mtn Bikers and will try to avoid to much trouble in and around our trails.

Glad to hear thiings are drying up, I shall go out to the back side and finish removing the arrows.

I think the soft stuff you talk about was the material I raked back into the trail. A few rides on it should pack it back down. If you do go ride it stay on trail, I have seen a few new attack lines we want to grow up.

Sounds like we need new trails on Coit Mountain and the West side of Summer Street Ext more than I thought.
