As an alternative to the Father's Day triathlon, if people are interested it is my intention to do the first half+- of Newport Region Climbs-A-Lot, high school thru Eastman Hill and back bike path to 10 ~70 miles or alternatively we could ride all the way to Claremont and head back 11 to Newport ~ 91 miles.

Saturday is equally good for me if people prefer.

Since there haven't been any posts for the Fathers Day triathlon, I think I will do this 70 miler with you Ryan. I need some more hill practice, and maybe I will even do some sprinting, that is if I can get someone to join me.

Also, I need to start practicing transitioning from a long ride to running, so I will probably do a quick 3 mile run after the ride. The run probably won't be fast, it will be strictly training for my legs to go from biking to running.

What time do you plan to start the ride on Sunday?

Good question. What do people think? The earlier the better for me.

10 sounds good to me but I can do 9 or 8 if it makes you early birds happy.

Dana and I did the 70 mile ride. Mark and Ryan did the 90 mile ride. We all made it to the top of both King and Eastman. Mark, Ryan and I made it on bikes and Dana had to walk parts, which still isn't the easiest thing to do. King Hill to Eastman is quite a 1-2 punch, but it is rideable. Today was probably the first time where I was thinking it would have been a good idea to have a triple instead of a double chainring. That thought lasted till I made the top of Eastman, now I am still happy I have a double.

Try 40 miles, over 3500 vertical feet of climbing, and then the 1-2-3 punch of King, Eastman, and Methodist. Methodist was easier but it was no walk in the park after Eastman & King.

Once Mark & I hit the top of the Rt 120 uphill it was a fun ride to the Windsor / Cornish Covered Bridge on 12a, perhaps too fun, not long after that everything started to ache, however, a little stretch time off the bike solved that problem, at least temporarily.

What a perfect day for a ride, mostly sunny, not very windy, started off 60 and built to 75+, and Mark and I had a couple much deserved rain drops at just the right time to cool us down.

Thank you Dana & Ken for coming along on my crazy adventure and Mark for letting me talk you into to an additional 30+ miles, it was fun.

I finished up the ride with 101.11 miles and over 6600 vertical feet of climbing in 6:10:52, new records for me on all accords.

So Mark was there any food in your cupboard after you got done feasting? Speaking of feasting, I'm getting pretty hungry myself.
