Only 27 training days left before the event. if you count some of the days of the last week before the event for tapering, its even less. I hope everyone is injury free and training well for this spectacular event.

Its one of the best events that I've been involved with, among hundreds. The fact that it is right in my backyard (so to speak) makes it even more special. I look forward to some stiff team competition as I hope to improve immensely over last year's performance. Dan O is going solo as far as I know, too bad for the team competition, but look out 50+ solos.

Seeing the solos complete the four events successively is an impressive sight.

Given the different skill sets required, not to say anythng about the stamina, makes this one of the unique events in the running and cycling world.

I've anticiipated the arrival of 2007 Pinnacle Challenge all year and hope to see many of you out there as well.

Excellent Dan, I'm glad Bob teamed up with you. The competition will be great. Now, if I could only keep up with you on the bikes!!! I wonder if there will be any other 50 and over teams out there! It'll be interesting to see where our teams finish amongst the youngsters.

Dana you won't have to worry about that if Bob run's anything like he did last year. :)

Looks like we will have to put something up for a prize for the 50+ competition. Maybe a subscription to Geyser Jock, or a prescription for Lipitor.

Seriously though, you guys know you are our role models, and we only hope to be doing this shit when we hit your age...... ( in 2 decades...;)

Ryan,

I'm not sure how to take your statement about Bob's performance last year. Although competing in the VT50 50k this year as he did last probably slows him down a bit, but Bob is very competitive and I've seen him dig down deep in some past competions.

PJ,

If you get us hooked on Lipitor, next thing we know, we'll be making Lipitor commercials and be in the headlines for steroid use (i.e. certain ex Texas/Baltimore HR slugger (Viagra))

Dan,

I assume your team name this year is O'Herrin.

Dana,

Not trying to say Bob isn't an impressive runner, just saying with Randy in your corner you don't have to be as good as Dan. Randy had 5 minutes on Bob in the Road run alone last year, of course Bob was solo and Randy wasn't.

Dan,

Cool name and fitting... did you guys spend days thinking it up? Only kidding. Randy is 2? years older than me, so the double stuff doesn't work.

Ryan,

Ya, I know, but if you go by my times from last year, I have alot of work to do and a bunch of time to make up. Bob's and mine kinda offset and I only did two events.

It ought to be interesting, that's for sure. I can't believe Randy is older than you, now I really feel pathetic!

No Dana I came up with the name very quickly after PJ suggested "Old and Older' or "Slow and Slower" He must still be feeling torchered about last years upset. WHEN THE OLD GUYS RULED THE DAY.

Randy and I will be at the PC start/finish (Football Tower) to start at 9:30am Sunday 9/22/07 for our last trial run before the event. (I believe that several others will be there as well). See you there...
