I know the timer, maybe a bribe can knock a couple minutes off your time.

Jason,

Randy and I will be joining you.

We use to use Burkehaven as hill repeats in which we would do 6 to 8 up the .4 mile steep part of the hill.

I remember running this course as part of a 4.7 mile run in 1985. Burkehaven Hill came after two miles which I lead the race at that point in 10:09 and completed the second loop over Burkehaven in 16:29 finishing in 26:38 to win the race.

This year I will be glad to run the Burkehaven loop under 26 minutes.

It will be fun, see you there.

Okay you guys! I had no idea that this darn thing was a race! Sandy signed me up weeks ago, and said, "Come on, Julie--it's a run/walk--it will be fun". And so now I read all of you talking about beating each other? So, here's the thing; when you pass me, you have to say supportive things--just like I do when you all fly by and I'm there with my camera. I'm getting a little intimidated by the whole thing--I thought Sandy would be the only one I knew. Uh, oh! What have I done?

So, I have survived yet another ?first? in the world of outdoor athletics! I successfully completed the Sunapee Turkey Trot escorted by my fine son, Greg!

Here we are coming in for the finish:

(That?s Rhonda Gurney in the wings). Of course Greg had finished way before I did and doubled back to finish with me. My goal for this event was strictly to run more than walk. I accomplished that. Starting off on that steep hill was kind of like Chieftan Hill at the finish of the Prouty?tough!

My friend, Sandy hurt her knee playing racquetball, so she wasn?t able to run the whole course. I doubled back to come in with her:

(That?s Sandy?s son, Nick on the sidewalk. Nick came in 11th overall! Good job, Nick! A future Team Pinnacle member for sure~!
The whole race was a tremendous success!

Here?s Scott Blewitt (whom we all know and love)?I believe he was the mastermind for the event.

The entire group of volunteers were terrific to stand out in the miserable cold, wet weather to host this event. Thank you to the host community of Sunapee and to our own Team Pinnacle members that were there working, participating and cheering us on! What a great day! And NO GUILT eating that pie later in the day!
