I plan on doing the Point Series pretty often this year. Who else plans on racing? Would be nice to get a few people together to work as a team.

Also, when does it start?

I plan on racing the B group next Tuesday, May 5th. My first time back in a peleton in 2 years, so it should be interesting.

I'll start out by saying that I might get lynched if I race in the B's again.

Pre-race was not so much fun. I ended up locking my keys, water bottles, Gu and long sleeve jersey in the car before the race. Fortunately, a Sunapee S&W guy had an extra water bottle that he let me borrow and also some gatorade.

The race was fun. Because of the small showing, the race ended up being 60 laps with both A's and B's on course at the same time. The first couple laps were pretty uneventful, just getting comfortable in the group. On the 3rd lap, the bell rings for a B group Prime sprint. Didn't really hear it and wasn't quite sure what was going on, but I saw a B guy go off the front coming into the 3rd corner. I yelled to another guy if this was a sprint and he yelled "if you want a buck, you better catch him." So I sprinted from the back of the group, bridged up to the guy sprinting and crossed the line first. First sprint done and over. From then on I was pretty much leading the B group around the track. I pulled for probably 50 of the 60 laps and won all 12 sprints. I got some handshakes afterwards and some congrats, but I think I should be in the A's next time. The B group did thank me for one heck of a workout though.

Short Report: turned out to be a 38 minute interval.

Longer Report: Made the same rookie mistake. Put too much effort into my first sprint, stayed off the front for too long, when the group caught me, they passed me and left me in the dust. I tried to catch up, but it wasn't happening. I let them lap me, then I was able to stay with the pack the rest of the race.

Mike Barton is an animal. Tried to stay with him, lasted about 30 seconds and I was toast.

Better luck next week. Even though I got lapped, I didn't finish dead last. I got 9th out of 13.

I'll be giving the A group another go tonight. I can't remember for sure, but I believe Nelson said that tonight is Team Racing night. Any other CCD/TPers interested in coming over?? According to Nelson, and backed up by Mike Lovell, a team is 3+ people.
