Hey guys,

We are looking for a few volunteers to help out with the Six in the Stix trail run on June 17th. We currently need a couple folks to do water station duty at the intersection of Summer Street and Pinnacle. This will involve getting the supplies up there and cheering people on in addition to handing out water. Also needed is someone to inspect the course the morning of the race to ensure all markings are still in place. Finally, we need a sweeper to follow the last place person around so the scores will know when the race is over (the same person could do pre-race inspection and sweeper if they wanted to).

The race starts at 10:00 and will be over by noon. All helpers get a T-shirt and that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you helped out a great cause.

Thanks Dan,

Ryan has signed up for pre-race inspection and sweeper. You could join Ryan on the bike for the inspection if you would like to get a ride in, then help out with water duty.

OK, who wants to hang out with Dan to hydrate the racers and feed the mosquitos?

I want to combine my T-shirt and warm fuzzy feeling into a warm, fuzzy-feeling T-shirt. Oh, never mind. I'll be there at whatever capacity is needed. I must leave at noon for the Little League championships, so I won't be hanging around to help you guys out with cleanup or the interviews with ESPN and Sports Illustrated.

I should be able to help with pre-race stuff and whatever else you need help with during the race.

Brian I'd be willing to haul H2O up to the Pinnacle and hand it out. Just let me know what time and if you need help with set up.

You guys are awesome. The start/finish area is pretty well staffed. The more to help get the water supplies up there Saturday morning the better. It will make for a nice cheering section also, does anyone have a bell? We will probably only need one large container of water, but two half full ones will be easier to get up there (I will borrow them from the rec). A small table will also be needed and a package of cups. The location of the station will allow you to service the runners twice, so it should be fun. All the supplies will be driven to the water towers then will need to be carried from there. Race starts at 10:00, first racers will probably reach the water around 10:20.

We will also need some help with the kids race after the big race. Not sure if any of the water folks would be able to get back in time unless you had a bike up there with you.

We have plenty of help now, so if you have thought about racing, please do.

I'll bring my ATV to get the stuff to the top. I also have a very nice big blue (first place) Bell I won from the "Bell Town Classic" MTB race a few weeks ago. How stupid is that a bell as a prize. We could give out rocks and save a lot of money. Never thought I would use that bell.

I have Gatorade Containers to Haul up there. Will get them cleaned out from all the bug juice last summer. You can use the big one, that should suffice. Need cups though.

I may have 3 radios that can communicate with base to see hows it going and for injury reports and last racer stuff.

To all who are helping Saturday,

I will have all the supplies for the water station at the High School Saturday morning. This will include the water, table, cups, trash bag, key to the gate, and radio. You may want to bring chairs, sunscreen, maybe music, and certainly bug spray. You should plan on being ready to leave the School around 9:00 so you have an hour to haul stuff up there and get setup. The water station will be at the intersection of Summer Street and Pinnacle. The runners will pass straight by on Summer Street, then several minutes later they will come out of Pinelink and cross over to Pinnacle Bypass. There may be a short time when you have runners doing both.

I plan on arriving at the school no later than 7:00 to get everything setup. I think we are in good shape, but anyone who wants to show up early and help is welcome. I heard there may be some donuts involved.

Ryan will be heading out at 8:00 to do a final course inspection by bike. He should be back by 9:00, so if anyone wants to join him please feel free to go along. Ryan, please remind me to give you the stapler, some arrows, and a radio for your inspection ride.

During the race Ryan will be bringing up the rear of the runners. So when you see Ryan the first time you will know no one else is coming up the hill. The Second time you see him you are done and can head down. If a couple of you can get back down fast enough we could use some help with the little kids as they do there short fun run.

Lastly, if any of our scoring help cancels last minute we will pull from the woods group to fill in.

Thanks again for lending a hand.

Brian
