Anybody doing the NSC race this weekend? If so lets car pool. It is a 10AM mass start and I'm bound to blow up by mile 20 so no one will be waiting around for me.

Fun race, but I messed up my knee at the Mooseman. I'll be taking a brief break from racing to heal.

Hi, I'm going to NSC.

Wanted to ask if any of you guys could describe the coarse in detail. I'm trying to guess on a gear for my Single Speed and have no idea. The description says Super fast with a lot of climbing??? Not a good combo for a SS, anyways any help would be appreciated, (like is it similar to such and such a coarse). I have done most all of the Southern NE coarses in the past years...also Second start, Bearbrook, Landmine, Wahoo and Grillzy. Is is similar to any of those?

Thans for any input.

Carpool is out for me, I reside in central CT.

Thanks, Sam
Brian

Nathan, my left knee just gave out around mile 9 of the run and became very sensitive to any side load. Just the crown in the road was enough to cause extreme pain. I ended up walking the last three miles. Never experienced any similar issues prior to this happening. By Tuesday morning it was already feeling much better. I plan on being back on the bike by Saturday to give it a test.

Sammy, the Northshore course of last year was fast on not very technical. There were some longish climbs but not very steep. I remember a couple fast downhills, one in particular had a sharp right at the bottom that many folks missed and went sliding out into a ditch. There is one long flat section that was big ring material for us shifters. There is also some singletrack through some big fields that was pretty cool. There were only a couple mud pits last year, but it looks like that could be much worse this weekend.

This will give you some time to work on strengthening your upper body. Sam, I'll be flying the CCD green/yellow jersey, look for me. Nathan

Nathan, what class are you racing? I'll look out for you and try and say Hi.

Brian, thanks for the input...that helps.
