While a cool contraption to look at, I wish the story would have defined why this design prototype was created. What issue is being addressed or what is being improved upon. I guess I like to know the 'why' before I can fully appreciate the 'how'.

Interesting but I'm with Brian, I want to know more. It reminds me of something I've seen before in Sci Fi, perhaps Tron.

Did not actually expect an answer Dan but I'm not surprised you found it. Now I know the why, a place was needed for a basket! Really a great idea that was long overdue. I have often thought that I could make a boat load of money if I could invent a way to mount a basket on a bicycle. For some reason ripping out the rear hub to make room for the basket never crossed my mind.
