I plan on racing. I'm going to be in CT near the venue for the day anyhow. Anyone else going? The weather report keeps on changing, but it looks like the Sport category should have a mostly dry race.

Quick race report. The day was beautiful. Sunny and 50 with a little wind. The race course was beautiful. Nice and dry, except for a very short section of mud, fast, but unfortunately not much climbing and almost no technical sections. I have put a lot of focus on climbing and have gotten much better at it so was hoping there would be more.

Race started out very cramped and I got stuck behind a bunch of people that don't know how to ride. They kept crashing on twigs or running into trees, so the first half of the first lap I spent passing a lot of people. Second lap started and I wasn't very far behind the lead group. I started pulling them in and made my way up to 5th place. I was happy to see that my climbing training was paying off as I was actually catching people and passing them on the climbs. Coming towards the end of the second lap, my legs started cramping and I just suffered through it for the last 5 miles. 3 people that I passed on the 2nd lap ended up catching me and finishing 6, 8 and 23 seconds ahead of me.

Finished 8th, 3 minutes back from the winner, so I was happy.
