Today was the 4th Saturday of tree clearing of the single track trails.

Hemlock loop, Fox tail and Lady slipper have joined the ranks of Fire line, Fisher cat, 1/2 of Long trail and Woodpecker being cleared of fallen trees.

This leaves the other 1/2 of Long trail, Deer Run, Moose track, Red pine and Sampler as unscouted and I imagine littered with fallen trees.

Hemlock was an easy clear with just three downed trees. Fox tail and Lady slipper made up for it with multiple, three to five trees per blockage. All and all I'd guess up to thirty downed trees on Fox tail and even more, about forty, down on Lady slipper.

It's tough going and to say the least I'm cooked, but, progress is being made and with a few more Saturdays, clearing downed trees should do it.

The trails are still littered with stuff and have standing pools of water and muddy sections. A good number of volunteers can get rid of the debris but the water and wetness will take care of itself. I still hope for and look to an opening early in the" Merry month of May"-be.
