Hi everyone,

This is an event that was forwarded to me so I thought I would pass it along to the group. I am actually out of the country when this takes place, but wanted to at least let everyone know about it. Sounds like a good time and it is for a good cause.

Please join us for a cycling-related film screening on May 1st. Award-winning documentary film-maker Jacob Siegel-Boettner from UC Berkeley will be presenting his film which features the power of bicycles to affect social and economic change. This film, With My Own Two Wheels, is 45 minutes long and will be followed by a very short film highlighting the work of World Bicycle Relief in South Asia and Africa. World Bicycle Relief is an NGO that provides cargo bikes to students, farmers, health workers and relief workers in developing countries.

Info about the film: http://www.withmyowntwowheels.org/
Info about WBR: http://worldbicyclerelief.org/
The film will be shown in Filene Auditorium in the basement of Moore Hall (the psychology building) at 4 PM on Sunday, May 1st. Assuming good weather, there will be an informal group ride with the film-maker, the cycling team, and possibly some celebrity professional cyclists at 2 PM, leaving from the Dartmouth Green. This non-competitive ride will be up to Lyme and back - about 15 miles.

Although this event is free of charge, donations are welcome, with all proceeds going to WBR. Feel free to pass this information on to any other enthusiasts. The film has won awards at a couple of west-coast film festivals and promises to be interesting and inspiring.
