Not sure how many of you know Mike Feeney or Bob Saturley but they were hit by a car last night in Newbury while riding their bikes. Mike was air lifted to Dartmouth. Bob unfortunately did not make it. Bob was a really nice genuine guy and he will be missed.

Send a prayer to Mike.
Once his head is clear they will begin work on his very damaged leg, maybe as soon as today.

The latest update on Mike as of 3pm Sunday is as follows:

[quote:459451c565]The doctors decided to put off the leg surgery for a bit to give Michael's brain more time to heal. His condition is stable and he has made some slight improvements. He responds to some commands and is trying to open his eyes but he has yet to do so. Doctors are cautiously optimistic.[/quote:459451c565]

Update on Mike. He is still in light coma and did not receive the leg surgery today but he is making slow gains each day.

A website has been setup for the family of Mike to communicate Mike's progress here:

The link above is now the formal information source for Mike's progress.

Yes, surgery went well on his leg and Michael is making gains on other fronts as well. Today was a very good day.

Please keep our thoughts and prayers with Michael and his family. Lot's of positive news today but he still has a long road ahead of him and will need our support.

Sharon Feeney has updated the CaringBridge site:
[quote:fda2cf0d74]"We are pleased with Mike's progress and we are happy to report that he will be moving from the ICU to less intensive care. "[/quote:fda2cf0d74]

It is good to hear Mike is leaving the ICU.

Catherine Feeney added a nice update on Mike's condition to the CaringBridge site yesterday evening: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/feeney/journal

Sounds like progress is slow but positive.

Sandy gave me an update on Mike's condition today:

Mike is home and doing very well! His leg is still heeling and he gets fatigued easily but the Mike we all love is back.

Please give the Feeneys some more time to heal and reach out on an individual basis. Waiting is the hardest part, I know, but please be patient and know that Mike is doing very well.
