NH hunting season is upon us so it's important to dress appropriately while in the woods. Hunting is allowed in the Newport Town Forest but it's mostly used during deer season. Below are the dates I copied from the State at http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Hunting/hunting_dates_and_seasons.htm

Starts Sept. 1 Black bear/dates vary for method and WMU
Sept. 2011 - Jan. 2012 Waterfowl/dates vary by species and zone
Sept. 24-25, 2011 Youth waterfowl weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
Sept. 15 - Dec. 15 Deer/archery (Note: September 15-30, archers may only take legally antlered bucks statewide; archery season closes on Dec. 8 in WMU A)
Sept. 15 - Dec. 15 Fall turkey/archery
Oct. 10 - Oct. 14, 2011 Fall turkey/shotgun (in certain WMUs only); Monday - Friday
Sept. 2011 - March 2012 Small game/dates vary by species and region
Oct. 1 - Dec. 31 Pheasant

Just a reminder. Riffle Deer Hunting starts TODAY!

Please be careful in the woods, especially during dawn and dusk.

Time to strap on the leaf blower. Hunters love 80 decibels buzzing down the trail and the smell of a poorly tuned 2 cycle engine, keeps them from falling asleep on the tree stand.

Everything needs a good blow. I'm happy to do some blowing if you want help.

I am going to try a night blowing experiment soon to avoid conflict. Seems like it could be fun.
