I fell twice in the front yard going to tie up my dog. He has a hard time walking up a slight incline in the yard. Expect ice and frozen dirt.

I'm with Dan on this one, it's nasty out there. Went for an hour long slip and slide yesterday afternoon and I was wearing anti-slip, slip ons for my sneakers, if they worked you could fool me. It's crimpon conditions.

If you are planning on riding bring the big spiked tires. I found the areas with dense tree cover and no sun to be the best (ice stayed in the trees), everything else is dangerous.

HMMMMMMMMM decisions decisions.... I don't have my studded tires anymore - maybe I'll take a Moody Park death ride instead of driving out to Newport....

we just got about an inch last night and what an awsome night ride I had!!!

post up if you think the conditions will change.

We are getting light snow right now but no telling if that will make conditions better or worse. If you don't have heavy duty studs I wouldn't even dream of riding Pinnacle this weekend. Honestly I don't think I'd ride Moody either, but Moody is definitely a safer bet.

I'm headed out shortly to either buy/make a pair of studded winter trail running sneakers or if not satisfied with that get a pair of these: http://www.kahtoola.com/kts_aluminum.html.

Even without an ice storm, the trails frequently get very icy in the winter. Summer Street especially between the water towers and the Pinnacle Summit trail turns to a sheet of blue ice from runoff.
