I think we need a race report from Dan. Christian and I went down with him for his first Loudon experience last night.

If I must here goes:
First thanks to Ken and Christian for going with me. Before I get to the race report I thought I would share an observation on why Ken has gotten so fast in the recent year. He feeds Christian chocolate covered espresso beans. Then chases him all night. Sounds like good cross training.

Anyway, the race was great fun. Road course is 1.6 miles and I needed to do 21 laps (33.6 miles) I had never been to NHIS before so I was blown away with the size and layout. We set up in the pits replacing a bunch of motorcycle racers. Signed up for the B race and went out to practice. We arrived later than I wanted due to traffic problems so I had 10min to play on the track before the start. As most of you know I need 30-40min to warm up. I stayed with the group for the first 8 laps and dropped off. I planned on recovering and getting back on the next time around. Four laps later a 3 man breakaway group from my B race came up on me. I jumped on and helped them with the pulling. I stayed with them for the rest of the race at a very high pace (I finally warmed up) . On Lap 19 we caught up with the B group again and the breakaway lapped them. So If they lapped the main group that means I caught back up to them and didn't stay dropped. I was happy about that.
It was pizza night after the race and we all had more than enough to eat. This was a fun night and I'll do it again.
