Team Pinnacle's first race of 2006 is in the books. On Saturday I participated in the Shamrock Shuffle 5K in Lebanon. My primary purpose for going was to pimp the Six in the Stix and figured since I was there I might as well give it a try. The first 100 yards there was a lot of bumping and jockeying which I found quite enjoyable. I settled in at the back of the fast pack, 10th or so, and just tried to hang on. As I expected they slowly pulled away from me after the first half mile. Then I got girled by a fairly young and attractive girl. She helped me get my pace back up a little, or should I say her tights helped me. Good thing about running races, no padding in the tights. Then she turned a let a big loogie fly, I could not help but think, "I like this chick." About the half way point I got back by her and spent the rest of the race trying to hold my place, there was nobody close enough in front of me to think about catching. I finished the race in 19:36, my best ever 5K time! (also my only 5K time) That was good for 5/29 in the 30-39's, 12/150 overall.

A very respectable showing for your first 5k running race and your first race of the season, good job Brian 6:19 miles. I'd be happy if I could do that for 1 mile at this point.
