They look friendly and cute but don't mix well with spinning bike wheels.

Personally I have been hit by a small bird and big bees also I have had to take evasive action to avoid a partridge, turkey, squirrels and the occasional snake, frog and salamander. When riding with others it's most likely that I would be the potential road/trail hazard.

This never occured to me as a potential hazard Dan, thanks for finding this post. I will file it with "Always be weary of unassuming bridges".

I'll have to check my health insurance... wonder if I'm covered for Squirel colisions?
